Zonemedia (formerly Zone Vision Networks) has acquired more than 90 episodes of The Weather Channel (US) hit series Storm Stories from Collegia Capital LLC, for its Zone Reality channels, it was announced today by Chris Wronski, Chairman, Zonemedia.
Zonemedia has licensed cable, satellite, DTT, IP, VOD and Mobile rights for Storm Stories in UK and Ireland, Asia Pacific (excluding Australia) and EMEA.
Gosia Walak, Programming & Acquisitions Manager, Zone Reality, who concluded the deal comments, "We are delighted to have the rights to these amazing shows in the Storm Stories series. Zone Reality audiences will be amazed by the frightening strength of our planet's worst weather and the devastating impact it has on real people's lives."
The Weather Channel Senior Vice President and General Manager of Programming and Production Terry Connelly said, "The dramatic archival footage of extreme weather events and the first-person accounts of rescue and survival have made Storm Stories a very successful Primetime franchise for The Weather Channel."
Storm Stories features the real-life experiences of survivors and rescuers who have battled nature's most astonishing weather events. Storm Stories focuses on the inspiring experiences of ordinary people who are placed in extraordinary circumstances.
