Zone Vision Networks announced today its plans for a new channel – Reality Extra – which will launch on 28th February 2006. Airing alongside the highly successful Reality TV and Reality TV+1 on BSkyB, Reality Extra will provide the very best in reality shows with the additional provision of real-life enactment programmes and shows inspired by actual events.
Chris Wronksi, Chairman of Zone Vision Networks, who made the announcement, comments "The on-going growth and demand for our Reality TV and Reality TV+1 channels has given us the impetus to launch an additional and expanded Reality TV service. In 2005 a total of 10.2 million adults tuned into Reality TV in the UK, an increase of 14% on the total volume achieved in 2004.
The Reality TV channel was first launched in Europe and has gained distribution in more than 125 territories in just six years. Worldwide, Reality TV is now broadcast in 22 languages and is available to more than 134 million subscribers.
